Vertiv Holdings Co. (NYSE: VRT) has turned to a familiar partner to secure one of the most critical inputs for its data center equipment: power semiconductors.

The critical digital infrastructure company, headquartered in Westerville, Ohio, announced on November 4, 2026, from Columbus, Ohio, that it has entered a three-year strategic agreement with Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) covering silicon (Si) and silicon carbide (SiC) power semiconductors.

A supply chain move for the AI computing age

The agreement is intended to support long-term reliable access to, and supply of, these components, which sit at the heart of Vertiv's power product portfolio.

Among the products they support are Vertiv's next-generation 800 VDC power systems, developed to meet the evolving power requirements of AI infrastructure. The two companies' relationship spans decades, and the new agreement builds on that long-standing collaboration.

What the deal covers and where the components go

Infineon's components, which are manufactured globally, will be integrated into Vertiv products worldwide. The reach of the agreement extends across data centers, communication networks, and commercial and industrial applications.

As Vertiv scales production to meet growing demand for critical digital infrastructure, the company identified supply continuity and reliable, on-time delivery as central objectives of the deal. The semiconductors in question are essential to converting, managing, and distributing electrical power within Vertiv's systems.

According to the announcement, the agreement gives Vertiv greater visibility and predictability for power semiconductor supply across the three-year term. It also fits within the company's broader multi-supplier strategy, which aims to strengthen supply-chain resilience and support reliable execution across Vertiv's global manufacturing operations.

The selection criteria behind the partnership

Vertiv's decision to deepen ties with Infineon rested on a combination of technical and operational factors.

The company cited Infineon's technical capabilities across insulated-gate bipolar transistors (IGBT), silicon, and silicon carbide technologies, together with its global manufacturing capabilities and its track record for quality.

Beyond supply, the two firms will continue to align their technology and product roadmaps, a step intended to support Vertiv's evolving power infrastructure requirements as customer needs shift.

Executives frame the agreement around AI-driven demand

Leadership from both companies positioned the deal in the context of how AI computing is changing data center power needs.

Frieda He, Chief Procurement Officer at Vertiv, said the rapid evolution of AI is reshaping the power requirements of the data center and that customers need infrastructure partners who can anticipate what comes next.

She added that the agreement strengthens Vertiv's ability to deliver for customers today while supporting the next generation of power architectures required for AI and other critical applications. By aligning technology roadmaps with Infineon and securing access to critical power semiconductors, she said, Vertiv is taking a proactive step that enables its customers to scale with confidence.

On the supplier side, Andreas Weisl, Executive Vice President and Chief Sales Officer Industrial & Infrastructure at Infineon, said the agreement reflects a shared commitment to supporting the evolving requirements of critical power infrastructure.

Through its comprehensive portfolio and manufacturing capabilities, he said, Infineon can provide Vertiv with the advanced power semiconductor technologies needed to support its continued innovation and growth.

The wider Vertiv business the deal underpins

Vertiv supplies hardware, software, analytics, and ongoing services designed to keep its customers' vital applications running continuously, performing optimally, and growing with business needs.

Its portfolio of power, cooling, and IT infrastructure solutions and services extends from the cloud to the edge of the network, addressing challenges across data centers, communication networks, and commercial and industrial facilities.

The company does business in more than 130 countries. The new agreement reinforces the semiconductor supply underpinning that portfolio, with particular relevance to the 800 VDC power systems aimed at AI infrastructure.
